The ProActive Dental Studio team uses the iTero Impression Scanner to plan Invisalign treatment, and provide a picture of what your results will look like.
What is iTero?
The iTero Element Impression Scanner is an intraoral camera. This highly accurate camera that takes detailed 3D impressions of patients' bites, and allows us to make adjustments to treatment in real time. It also stores data digitally, and let's us show patients what their Invisalign results will look like before treatment even begins.
How does it work?
The iTero scanner scans each quadrant of the jaw. The ergonomically designed scanning wand used to do this makes the process very comfortable for the patient.
Whole tooth images are captured for highly accurate scan, which results in better fitting Invisalign aligners.
In addition to the quadrant scan, a full bite scan is also completed so that your dentist can get an accurate idea of the patient's malocclusion. The complete model is then sent to Align Technologies so that the aligners can be created.
With an iTero scan, we can use the Invisalign Outcome Simulator to create a simulation of what the patient's teeth will look like at the conclusion of Invisalign treatment.
