A mouth guard is designed to protect children's teeth from damage while they are playing sports. Although you can buy generic mouth guards at many sporting goods stores, a custom-made mouth guard will provide the best protection.
Why should children wear mouth guards?
A custom-made mouth guard will protect not just childrens teeth, but also their mouths, necks, and jaws during sports. In fact, they can even provide some protection for their head, which can help to prevent concussions. Sports guards are an important part of a child's equipment, just like hockey helmets or shin guards are.
How are custom-fitted mouth guards made?
Two appointments are required to fit your child with a custom mouth guard.
During the first appointment, we'll take an impression of your child's teeth. We'll send this impression to our lab, where the sports guard will be created. Your child will have a second appointment after the mouth guard is complete.
During the second appointment, our team will examine the mouth guard to ensure it fits snugly and comfortably in your child's mouth.
A custom-fitted mouth guard will provide optimum protection for children's beautiful smiles, whatever sport they play!
Will my insurance plan cover the expense of a mouth guard for my child?
